Hello there, it’s Marie from Marietabi Japan! This time, I took the direct airport limousine bus from Tachikawa Station to Haneda Airport Terminal 3. If you’re heading to the airport and want a smooth, stress-free journey without any transfers, this guide covers everything you need: bus stops, fares, travel time, and what the ride is actually like.
How to Get to “Faure Tachikawa” – The First Stop for the Haneda Airport Bus
There are three bus stops around Tachikawa Station where the Haneda Airport bus picks up passengers:
• Faure Tachikawa (ファーレ立川)
• SORANO Hotel
• Tachikawa Station North Exit
Among the three, Faure Tachikawa is the first stop, so you’re guaranteed to get a seat if you board here. Here’s the easiest way to reach it from Tachikawa Station.
1. Head towards Isetan Department Store

Exit the East or West ticket gate and walk towards Isetan. You can also go via the North Exit — just keep Isetan as your landmark.
2. Enter through the second-floor main entrance

Once you see Isetan, head to the central entrance on the second floor.
3. Walk straight and go down the escalator

Continue forward. After you go down the escalator, keep walking straight.
4. Cross the pedestrian crossing and head towards Takashimaya

You’ll see a pedestrian crossing — walk straight towards the Takashimaya side.
5. Keep walking until you see the brown building on your right

Once you pass Takashimaya, the street becomes quieter. A brown building on your right means the bus stop is close by.
6. Arrive at Faure Tachikawa Bus Stop

You’ll see the stop just ahead. From here, simply wait for your bus — easy peasy!
How Much Is the Bus?
The fare from Tachikawa to Haneda Airport Terminal 3 is: ¥1,800 one way
Bus vs Train – Which Is Better?
Train (JR and Monorail): about ¥990
Yes, the train is nearly half the price. However, I still chose the bus this time — and here’s why:
Why I preferred the bus

• No risk of delays caused by rail incidents
• No rush-hour crowds
• You can sit all the way to the airport
• A more predictable arrival time before a flight
For peace of mind before flying, paying a little extra is totally worth it.
Payment Options
You can pay for the bus using:
• Cash
• IC cards (Suica, PASMO, etc.)
My Bus Ride Report

I took the 17:30 weekday bus from Faure Tachikawa. Since it was early evening, I expected the bus to be busy — but surprisingly, only two groups boarded at this stop. The bus arrived approximately five minutes before departure.
Inside the Bus

The bus has comfortable two-seat rows, reclinable seats, and a calm interior with soft lighting — great for resting before a long flight. There is also a toilet at the back, which is reassuring since there are no scheduled stops during the one-hour ride.
Baggage Information
• Small bags (like backpacks): You can bring them onboard and use the overhead rack.
• Suitcases: You must hand them to the driver before boarding. They will be stored safely in the under-bus luggage compartment.
Charging Ports Available

Each seat has a USB charging port, perfect for charging your phone before arriving at the airport
The Bus Also Stops at Tachikawa Station North Exit
After leaving Faure Tachikawa, the bus makes a quick stop at Tachikawa Station North Exit. Only one more group boarded here.
Then the bus entered the motorway, with no further stops until Haneda Airport.
Arriving at Haneda Airport Terminal 3

Despite a little traffic, we arrived 12 minutes earlier than scheduled.
Airport buses usually include extra buffer time in the timetable, so delays are uncommon — another great reason to choose the bus.
Great for killing time or freshening up before your flight.
The great thing is:
The bus drops you off right in front of Terminal 3. No extra walking or transfers. You can go straight into the departure lobby.
Conclusion
Travelling from Tachikawa to Haneda Airport by bus was incredibly smooth and comfortable. If you have large baggage, prefer sitting the entire way, or want to avoid busy trains during peak hours, the direct airport bus is absolutely worth considering.
if you don’t want to carry heavy luggage to the airport, using a luggage delivery service can save you a lot of stress.
