Leonard’s finally made its way to Japan in December 2020, opening its first and only international branch in Yokohama. Since then, it’s gained a loyal following and continues to trend on social media.

My Review: Tried & Tested
I went for the custard-filled option this time.

The outer layer was generously coated in sugar and had a satisfying crispiness, while the inside was airy and soft. The custard itself was surprisingly light and not too sweet—perfect for those who prefer a more subtle dessert. While it may not have that flashy wow factor, the simple and comforting taste made me want to come back for more.
Queue & Timing

I visited around 1:00pm on a weekday and there were about 10 people in line. Fortunately, the queue moved quickly, and I only waited around 5 minutes. The staff were quick and efficient, and the malasadas came out piping hot. Weekends may be busier, so if possible, aim for a weekday or get there soon after opening.
