I visited Kissa YOU, a well-loved café in Higashi-Ginza, during a weekday lunchtime. I’d heard plenty about their signature fluffy omelet rice, but one bite was enough to make me think: What on earth have I been eating until now?
The creamy texture is so soft and smooth that it genuinely feels like you could drink it. I managed to visit during a weekday lunchtime with zero waiting time, so here’s a full review, including what the seating is like, how busy it gets, and whether it’s worth the hype.

Time: 12:00 (lunchtime peak)
Waiting time: 0 minutes
Seat: The 2nd floor (mostly used by pairs or small groups)
Atmosphere
1st Floor

Counter seating with quick movement and a slightly more relaxed vibe. It’s very easy for solo travelers or anyone wanting to pop in for a quick meal without fuss.
2nd Floor

A warm, wooden interior with a slightly retro feel. Even without natural daylight, it has a cozy café atmosphere where you can sit back and relax. Table seating for two or more, calmer and a bit more spacious.
I was seated upstairs this time. The lighting is soft (there’s no natural light on the second floor), but the space feels calm and comfortable. Despite being upstairs, the service was fast and the customer turnover surprisingly quick.
What I ordered

Signature omelet rice and Melon soda set(1800yen)
Serving time: Around 10 minutes
Tasting the iconic omelets rice
The moment you slide your spoon into the omelet, the egg gently melts and spreads across the plate, almost like a soft custard.
The first bite truly hits you: “This is drinkable!

It’s unbelievably smooth—lighter than typical fluffy omelet rice yet richer in flavor.
The buttery aroma, the gentle richness of the egg, and the slight acidity of the tomato rice all blend beautifully. Despite being indulgent, it’s not heavy at all, and you can enjoy every bite comfortably.
How busy does it get?

Weekdays: Often under 10 minutes if you avoid the peak
Weekends: Up to 30 minutes of queuing

Summary
Kissa YOU is absolutely worth visiting if you want to try omelet rice that goes beyond “fluffy” and becomes genuinely drinkable. With zero waiting time during my weekday visit, I enjoyed a relaxing lunch on the second floor and experienced one of the smoothest omelets I’ve ever had.
The service is quick, the atmosphere is charming, and the dish itself is unique enough to justify the queue on busier days. Whether you’re exploring Ginza or looking for a memorable Japanese café meal, Kissa YOU is a spot I’d happily recommend.
