The famous No-Face photo spot at Ghibli Park—undoubtedly the most iconic photo op.

Hello, this is Marie Travel. If you’re planning a visit to Ghibli Park, there’s one place you really shouldn’t miss — the charming Transcontinental Flight café, tucked away inside Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse. This café doesn’t just serve food; it allows you to step straight into the world of Porco Rosso. Even better, you can spot the original autographs of Hayao Miyazaki and Toshio Suzuki inside.
In this Ghibli Park café Transcontinental Flight review, I’ll share what makes it special, what to order, the latest prices, and practical tips to beat the crowds.

What Is Transcontinental Flight?

Transcontinental Flight is a themed café inspired by the aviation world of Porco Rosso. The building itself resembles an aeroplane wing, and inside you’ll find model planes and large vintage-style world maps. As a result, the space feels playful yet nostalgic — exactly what Ghibli fans adore. If you enjoy immersive dining experiences, this Ghibli Park café Transcontinental Flight is more than just a quick lunch stop; it’s a key part of the attraction.

What I Ordered

On this visit, I tried the Mortadella Ham Sandwich and the Margherita pizza.

First of all, the sandwich arrived with a tiny flag inspired by Kiki’s Delivery Service. It’s such a small detail, but incredibly charming. The bread was slightly firm; however, the mortadella was thick, smooth, and pleasantly fatty, which balanced the texture perfectly. The pizza crust was also on the firmer side, but the tomato sauce and cheese were juicy and full of flavour. When eaten warm, the cheese stretches beautifully — always a good sign! Overall, it’s simple food done very well.

Crowds & Best Time to Visit

Although there’s a fair amount of seating, the dining area is quite compact and fills up very quickly.

I visited on a Saturday at 11:00 am. Even before noon, the café was already full. Although I didn’t have to wait long to order, many visitors were struggling to find seats. Therefore, I strongly recommend avoiding peak lunch hours (12:00 pm – 2:00 pm). If possible, aim to go earlier or slightly later in the afternoon. Since this is one of the few proper meal spots inside Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse, it reaches capacity very quickly.

To reach Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse in Nagoya from Tokyo or Osaka, the Shinkansen (Bullet Train) is your best friend. If you’re planning to explore more of Japan, the [JR Pass] is a cost-effective way to travel across the country seamlessly.

At the back-left of the café, you’ll find handwritten autographs from Hayao Miyazaki and Toshio Suzuki. There’s even a small Totoro sketch next to the signatures. I felt a genuine rush of excitement when I spotted it! If you’re visiting Transcontinental Flight, do take a moment to look around — it’s easy to miss if you’re not searching for it.

Is Transcontinental Flight Worth It?

In short — absolutely.

  • Immersive Atmosphere: Perfect for Porco Rosso fans.
  • Good Value: Reasonably priced for a theme park.
  • Exclusive Extras: Home to genuine Ghibli autographs.
  • Convenience: One of the best dining options inside the Warehouse.
It does get crowded, but if you want a proper meal rather than just snacks, this is the best choice in Ghibli Park. For Ghibli fans, it’s not just lunch — it’s an essential part of the experience.
